2017台北世大運將在8月舉行，台北市長柯文哲今日上午也前往台北田徑場視察，還在世大運培訓選手及熊讚陪同下搶先「試跑」。北市工務局新工處則指出，田徑場整建工程已在3月完工，工程經費約1億744萬餘元，並提前在4月4日取得國際田徑總會IAAF一级認證，7日起也將進行兩天測試賽，以驗證全新比賽場地。

新工處今日表示，台北田徑場為2017世大運田徑賽主要比賽及練習場地，也是開、閉幕典禮場地，而本次工程主要內容除了跑道鋪面全面翻新外，還包含增設直線跑道、跳板更新、調整助跑道、沙坑、鉛球場等體育設施；另外，暖身場整建內容則有北側原天然草坪挖除改鋪設合成橡膠面層、原有標槍場及鐵餅場拆除、夜間照明整修等，完工後除可滿足世大運各項正式賽會之要求，賽會過後也可提供民眾更優良、舒適之運動場所。

新工處也說，由於台北田徑場、暖身場整建內容都包含跑道更新重鋪，且跑道挖除重鋪等受天候影響甚鉅，但在施工團隊努力下，目前兩個場地連同跳水比賽場地詩欣館，都已如期如質在3月29日完工，其中，田徑場原預定在106年5月底取得IAAF認證，亦大幅提前至106年4月4日通過認證，正式作為2017台北世大運田徑賽事場地。

新工處進一步指出，世大運所需場館共60座，包含新建場館2座、整建場館53座、5座僅需賽前布置，而截至4月4日，53座整建場館已完成49座，其餘4座及新建場館也到主體工程尾聲。

針對世大運場館整建進度，柯文哲今日受訪時也表示，目前為止都在控制中，所有場館修繕沒問題，「事實上只有幾個興建場館，大部分還是整修，所以這也還好，都有依照進度走」。他還強調，場館蓋完後會舉行測試賽，下雨天的部分也再做確認。
